1 · Scan the photo
Any photo scan in the app. Faces that match a Faciey profile open it; the rest get a card of their own.
Web search
Not on Faciey? Look for the photo.
Most faces in a photo belong to people who haven't joined yet. For those, Faciey can look for the photo itself on the public web and show you the pages it appears on — a profile, a post, an article — with photos that look like it.
- The public web
- Exact and similar photos
- The photo, never the face
3 searches a month on Premium, and only a search that finds the photo counts.
New here?
Faciey is a face-recognition app. People add their own face and the links they publish; anyone who sees them can scan the face and reach all of it. Nobody is in it who did not put themselves there.
How it worksHow it works
Three taps from a stranger to a source.
2 · Search the web
On a face nobody matched, tap Search the web. Faciey looks for that photo on public pages.
3 · Open where it was found
Pages showing the same photo come first, then photos that look like it. Every search is kept so you can come back to it.
What it is, exactly
A search for a picture, not for a person.
Faciey's face matching only ever runs against people who joined and switched discovery on. Web search is a different thing: it asks where a photo has been published.
No face leaves Faciey
Nothing about anyone's face is sent anywhere or compared with anything outside Faciey. The search is for the photo you scanned.
Kept for you
Each search and the pages it found are saved under your searches, and erased with your account.
Photos you can share
A photo can show other people too. Only search photos you have the right to share.

Is this face recognition across the internet?
No. It looks for the photo itself on public web pages, and for photos that look like it. No face is compared against anything outside Faciey.
Which plans include it?
Premium and above, by the month. 3 searches a month on Premium. A search that finds nothing, or only similar photos, doesn't use one up.
Can I search from the website?
Not yet. The website scan tells you whether someone is on Faciey; looking for the photo on the web is in the app.
Why can’t I search a face from a live or video scan?
Live and video scans don’t keep pictures of faces that didn’t match, so there is no photo to search. Photo scans keep it, and that is where the button appears.
Every face gets an answer, or a lead.
Matched faces open a profile. The rest can still tell you where the photo came from.
