Impersonation on every other platform works because a name and a picture are all it takes. Here the face itself is the credential, so it has to be proven live.

How does face verification work?
The app guides you through four poses while the camera watches for the small movements a live face makes. It takes about twenty seconds. A held-up photo or a screen does not pass, which is what stops someone verifying with a picture of you.
Do I have to verify to use Faciey?
You can scan other faces without verifying. Verification is what lets you own your own face — hold the tick, be findable, and claim photos of yourself.
Does verifying make me discoverable?
No. Verification and discoverability are separate switches. A verified account is still invisible until you turn discoverability on yourself.
Can two people register the same face?
No. A face that is already verified cannot be registered again, so an impersonator cannot take yours. If someone has claimed a photo of you, you can dispute it and a verified face wins.
Can I delete my face afterwards?
Yes, in one tap, permanently. There is no archive and no grace period — the faceprint is removed and stops matching anything.
